What We Do We are a town-based festival, started in 1973 and last year reached our 51st outing. Wadebridge is a small town, and we use its existing spaces and venues, all of which are within easy walking distance. From around midday on the Saturday to Monday, we run the outside FAR Stage (behind Wadebridge Wines in Eddystone Road, PL27 7AL); around nine varied acts each day from Cornwall and the Southwest, with music from the traditional to alt-folk and beyond. There’s food, and we run a bar featuring local beers, ciders and gin, plus wines and soft drinks. This space can accommodate around 300 people, and entry is £5 per day per person, or £10 for families. From Thursday to Sunday evening, we hold a concert in the Town Hall, The Platt, PL27 7AQ. Thursday we have a Nos Lowen dance (a Cornish ceilidh), and then three nights of double-bills. We run a bar featuring local suppliers, plus wines, but no food. These gigs are usually seated, and the seated capacity is 210 people. individual evening concert tickets go on sale on 6th March (day after St Piran’s) and will be £25 until end of June and £27.50 after then. Half price for under 18s; free for under 5s. Since 2019 we’ve run a second series of evening gigs on Friday and Sunday in the 80-seater Betjeman Sessions at the Betjeman Centre, Southern Way, PL27 7BX, each concert featuring artists from the Southwest. On sale from mid January 2025, these are £12 each concert before end June and £14 after; half price under 18s. In contrast to the noisier town hall, these are much more intimate gigs (though the town hall is stilll pretty intimate and friendly!). We’ve also got an extra Friday afternoon event in the Goods Shed next door. Announcement on what soon!
