Artist statement My work examines the spaces between proximity and distance, where boundaries blur and new connections emerge. As a tattoo artist, I forge bonds through the act of marking skin, creating narratives that intertwine personal histories with collective memory. My mixed media sculptures, drawings and Dermography project delve into the concept of li, uncovering the organic patterns that resonate across time and space. Drawing on the traditions and symbolism of my heritage, my work grapples with themes of belonging and separation, revealing the invisible threads that weave our lives together. Today, I expand this dialogue through diverse mediums—from painting and printmaking to textile and installation. Each discipline informs the others, blending my travel experiences, formal education, and hands-on practice to create holistic artworks.
