ABOUT STEVIE Growing up in Newlyn, a busy fishing village and creative hub in Cornwall, Stevie’s love of the natural environment and creative streak was nurtured form a young age. As well as raising her family she has over time turned her hand to a variety of career paths and ventures, but always the desire to create has had a strong pull on her. Finally, Stevie found her creative outlet in Sea Moor Cornwall DESIGN ORIGINS Stevie’s clean, contemporary designs stem from a wonderfully fun and messy rainy day activity with her granddaughter Elsie Rae. Inspired by a Gyotaku fish print on the kitchen wall they set out to create their own with a mackerel bought from the local fishmonger. Together they thoroughly enjoyed slopping paint and creating prints of the mackerel and Elsie Rae went home proudly clutching her mackerel paintings. Later, Stevie took a closer look at the prints and decided to try to add some of the natural detail on the fish that the print hadn’t picked out. She found myself adding more and more detail, then embellishing the rest of the fish with her own designs. The resultant mackerel design was to be the first of many in Stevie’s Sea Moor Cornwall collection.
